I’m afraid that this was compiled rather late, now accentuated by the fact that Martin’s computer is rebelling and only a few have been emailed so far . . . apologies, and please be patient, thanks.

Cowes and Surfury
POSTSCRIPT
The year is now 2015 and the redevelopement of EAST COWES currently under build with Apartments, Hotel, New Marina etc is “supposed” to include a Maritime Museum…..the current Classic Boat Museum’s future hangs in the balance and they do not have space to display a craft of SURFURY’S size….yet situated at East Cowes is the magnificent Columbine Hanger that was home to Princess Flying Boats….the British Hovercraft Corporation and many maritime adventurers. The iconic Solent landmark STEEPED IN HISTORY would provide a magnificent building for a museum that reflected the Islands and Britains maritime history for “EVERYMAN” away from the haughty confines of Greenwich…and what a family outing that could be….it would have space for the Hovercraft museum as well, who I understand are also seeking a new home!
