White Tornado

According to information received by Graham Stevens the Consentino /Balestrieri Bertram 31 designed by Russell Specht has surfaced in the States…apparently Balestrieri took White Tornado to the States in 1970 for a series of races including the Miami Nassau but then she vanished and has no history post ’71. When found the craft was Black but the original white gel coat has been found underneath (only one white 31 Special was built). Both Red and White Tornado were powered by Mercruisers on outdrives and were very fast, they came first and second in the 1969 Wills International in fact they even had time to stop have chat and ciggy and still finish 30 mins ahead of the third place boat! They were the first OP1 boats to be seen in the UK with the Mercruiser I/O setup……..

Levi 27

Further to the earlier posting about the Ebay Levi Corsair 27ft our good friend and club member Chris Grayer has visited the owner and taken pictures of the boat…she is in a solid but sorry state but would provide an ideal basis to rebuild a classic family cruiser. As you can see from the pictures a bare shell but when you remember the quality of build these GRP hulls had and their seakeeping abilities such a long term project would pay massive dividends for anyone able to take her on….yes she is free! but on a trailer which is for sale, some wheeling and dealing would soon see that sorted perhaps at a profit? We can put you in direct touch with the vendor if interested.

UPDATED INFO…apparently she has suffered badly with OSMOSIS so maybe this is one to pass unless you know better!
